Movember 2019

The leading global organisation changing the face of Men's health, Movember is about raising money worldwide to support men's mental health, prostate cancer's research & prevent men's suicide. Every year, for the whole month of November, men are raising money around the world to support this cause. Over the month, many men will grow a mo'.

As I lost my grandpa to cancer about 18 years ago, and have been affected by depression; I've always felt connected to this cause. This supports any men in your life: your husband, father, grandpa, son, cousin, friend... I've always tried to be creative in order to raise money for this cause. Last year, I gave free drum lessons to men, women & children, who got to learn the Daft Punk's drum beat: One more time!

This year, while looking for ideas, I came across the inspiring video created by Luke Davies for the song "Something about you" by Elderbrook & Rudimental. The video is spot on and captures men's mental health issues perfectly and how important it is to support each other. You might recognize Michael Socha from the TV series Chernobyl with an amazing performance. You can see the video here below:

As I felt inspired by this video, I've decided this year to raise money by learning the simple dance steps of this video and getting as many people as possible to join me & take part. I'll put a video together of all participants at the end of the month. If you'd like to take part in the video, watch the tutorial below on how to do these simple dance steps and send me your video at sofian@shakingminds.com.

Also, to support the cause, you can make a donation on the Shaking Minds Movember page. Together we can make a difference! Like it, share it and spread the word around you as it could affect anyone you love.

Thank you for your support!
